I’m a month late getting this Christmas post out….but better late than never, right? This girl loves to decorate. Anything and everything. If there’s an empty spot in the house or room, she wants to decorate it. This particular day, I picked Jenna up from Nana’s house one Saturday afternoon, she was in the middle of helping Nana decorate her house for Christmas and didn’t want to stop. Jenna made me promise to decorate our house when we got home. She didn’t like having to clean the house first and pack stuff up then going to the storage room to pull out all the bins, only to make the rooms messy again. Can’t say I blame her though.
Jenna called Bubba to see if he wanted to come over and help. She also wanted a handful of her friends to come over and help but I took a hard pass on that and told her if we finished early enough, her friends could come over and spend the night. She held me to my word. She loved pulling ornaments out of the bin and handing them to Bubba. She did get tired of it after a few times and decided to hang ornaments on the tree herself.
I love these Christmas ornaments. When Cameron was growing up, the tree ornaments were always different. Every year me, my mom and my mammaw would go Christmas shopping the morning after Christmas and buy all new ornaments for the next year. They were marked down seventy five percent, so it was a fun tradition I always looked forward to. Well, when I divorced, I lost all of those ornaments. So when Jenna was a baby, my mom and I went shopping for new ornaments. I wanted colorful ornaments and a kid inspired theme. Shopping before, the ornaments came from Dillard’s but this time it was all Kirkland’s. And all Elfs. It’s so cute! It’s all kid friendly and it’s all red and green. You can’t help but feel happy when the house is decorated. And you know what? All Jenna wants is a Grinch theme. lol.
Hopefully, next year, I can get blogs out in a timely manner. Most of my pictures were taken on my cell phone and for some reason, I can’t get them to stick to the blog. Still learning, though….be patient.
