Come Play on the Farm With Me
If you’re local to Lawrenceville, Georgia, you don’t want to miss the photo opportunities Prospect Farms has for you! Myself, along with other photographers, close by, keep an eye on all the mini sessions available here. I’m so grateful this family opened their farm…venue to the public. I know so many families who have made great memories here. They have highland cows and recently added baby goats to the property. Join me and my daughter for my first session here to play with these cuties.
I’ve read blogs of other photographer’s sessions here but I wanted to see for myself. Is it really that easy to work with kids and big animals like this at the same time? Well, it sure was! I was pleasantly surprised at how easy going and laid back the cows were. Jenna had a blast, once she warmed up to the animals. My favorite part is that one of the owners was there with me the whole time, feeding the goats, to keep them close by. Look at my little cutie! I’ve been told she looks like Anna Chlumsky, from “My Girl.”
One of the most favorite things I love about “my girl,” is that she knows what she likes and she has her own style. When I’m lucky enough to have her in a photo session, I have to show her the first set of pictures I’ve taken and make sure she approves of how she looks. As if we can do anything about it at that point. Well, in this moment, she thought she’d look better in her daddy’s sunglasses. I can’t say she was wrong. I kind of dig it, weeks after the session, lol.
Nolan Enters The Session, Shy but Willing…Since Jenna’s Having Fun
Meet Nolan, Jenna’s cousin. These two are cousin twins, born three months apart. They’re lucky enough to spend most weekends with Nana and Grandpa, my wonderful In-Laws. How lucky are they to have a memory bank full of time with their grandparents. These two have very different personalities. When the goats wouldn’t come up to them, Nolan sat down and patiently waited for the goats to approach him but Jenna got tired of waiting and chased after them, like a storm trooper.
I highly recommend this session for kids, especially if your kids are shy like mine. Animals are great for bringing kids out of their shell and making people smile. I’ve never seen Nolan smile so much, especially for my camera. Plus having Nolan there with Jenna helped bring out her softer side.
On a high note, Nolan was excited to see the Highland Cows. My husband’s bloodline is from Scotland so we took a few pics of him feeding the cow for his dad. He was excited but kind of grossed out the cow’s tongue touched him.
