Mayberry Acres, Canton Georgia
This enchanted greenhouse mini session is the one session I’ve been looking forward to all year. It’s located on a seven acre farm, known to photographers as Mayberry Acres, in Canton, Ga. This set is exactly the way it looks. Built in the woods, it sits right under the sun, allowing the sun rays to shine brightly down to enhance your experience during your session. It’s decorated only in white from the floor to the ceiling, with pops of greenery. To top it off, there are two chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and the sides of the windows covered in sheer curtains. This set is nothing short of the most elegant set I’ve photographed, so far.
This lovely family was a dream to work with. I love when I get couples who show up looking like they stepped out of a fashion magazine. Their youngest son was nervous of me, at first and didn’t want his picture taken, so I took pictures of Mom and Dad and his brother, while we waiting on little man to warm up. This is one big reason I welcome my clients to show up extra early for their session. Just in case their kids need more time to warm up to me or their surroundings. I actually enjoyed focusing on Mom and Dad because they never really get couple shots, once the kids come, right? This is one “pose” I always try to work in during my mini sessions.
Once little man was ready, I had him and his big brother grab the fake snow on the ground and throw it up. He really liked this. By the end of the session, he was warmed up and ready to rock and roll but it was time for him to leave. I made sure to redo a quick family shot with him in it before they left. Sorry to the family who was after them.
This little sass, in the white dress, is my daughter. She’s wearing her flower girl dress from my sister’s wedding, last year. I had to beg her to wear this and let me do her hair in a bun. I knew this would be the perfect setting for her formal attire, something I never get to see her in.
This cluster of photos almost didn’t happen. She thinks she’s a comedian, so it took half the session for her to stop photobombing me and ruining the picture. she kept turning around and making faces or throwing peace signs. Ugh, I don’t know what I’m going to do with her sometimes. She’s fun though and keeps me on my toes. If I’m not laughing, she leaves me wanting to pull my hair out. But She’s cute.
It was a tight squeeze but we made it happen and got everyone in the shot. It was so funny taking couple photos of these parents. The kids didn’t know what to do. Some kids laughed out loud and some made gagging faces. They were hooting and hollering the whole time. It was a good time. Their reaction had me reposing and doing more embracing, just to see how much they could stand. I swear kids will bring the entertainment to every session, weather you’re ready for it or not.
All I knew about this family, is that they are dating. I’m not sure if it’s been long term or what, so I made sure to take separate photos of each family….just in case. If you’re like me, you want to make sure you still have something to hold on to, just incase you need to change a photo in the picture frame. Hopefully, they’ll make it long term and hire me to be their wedding photographer 🙂

Look at this dress! It is so gorgeous! I love fancy, long, flowy dresses like this on my clients. When I started photography and clients would ask me what to wear, I use to tell them to wear whatever they feel most comfortable in. That was a mistake! Ladies, wear long dresses like this. It looks so nice and elegant. Plus it makes your legs look longer and gives you a variety in posing. So pick the long dresses for now on.
Raise your hand, if you’re like me and love the close up photos. Something about these kind of photos is a little more sentimental. I love close ups of the kids little hands.
